As a Managing Director at Blackhill Partners, Joe C. Stone is focused on the energy and high-tech manufacturing sectors. His investment banking career includes experience executing a variety of M&A transactions including mergers, acquisitions, corporate carve-outs, leveraged buy-outs, minority squeeze-outs, hostile and cross-border transactions. Currently, Mr. Stone is a Director of Visionbank Texas, where he is Audit Committee Chairman and a member of the Loan, Executive, ALCO and Compensation Committees; a Director of MagneGas Corporation (Nasdaq: MNGA) where he is on the Compensation Committee; and a Director of Composite Piping Technology, LLC. His most current transactions include acting as Restructuring Advisor for RAAM Global Energy, and for TransCoastal Corporation, a pre-packaged bankruptcy that was confirmed in 36 days. Mr. Stone’s 20-year career spans bulge bracket investment banking, direct investing, public accounting and management. He has completed financing transactions spanning initial public offerings, follow-on equity offerings, public and private convertible debentures, private debt and equity placements and various bank products. In 2006, Mr. Stone founded Pace Petroleum, LLC, a private oil and natural gas firm in Dallas, Texas where he led a team that drilled over 100 wells across the southern United States. He has hands-on experience managing the oil and gas exploration, development and acquisition processes. After selling a significant portion of its assets, Pace continues to operate today holding primarily non-operated working interests in a variety of productive fields. Joe began his career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse (now PwC), where he ultimately became a Manager in Audit and Business Advisory Services with responsibilities overseeing large audits that required significant coordination of multiple domestic and international PW offices. He holds a Master of Business Administration from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University, where he was a scholarship athlete on the football team.
