Mr. Ferguson is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Apex Fundamental Partners. Apex provides capital to companies experiencing difficulty obtaining financing through traditional capital sources, acquires distressed debt and equity from commercial lenders and investors seeking liquidity, and purchases companies where the owner or controlling party is motivated to exit the business. Mr. Ferguson has been a key driver in the success of numerous investments in difficult situations, in roles ranging from fulcrum investor, to lead negotiator for ad hoc creditors committees to board member. He has an established 32 year track record as an investment manager, investment banker and management consultant/crisis manager. He has 20 years of experience as a senior investment manager in event driven, distressed debt and private equity environments and 12 years of experience in investment banking and Big 6 management consulting. Mr. Ferguson was most recently employed as the senior distressed debt portfolio manager for Summit Investment Partners, a $6.0+ billion institutional asset manager, where he generated top tier investment performance on actively managed distressed and high yield investments. Previously, he managed distressed and high yield investments for Pacholder Associates, Inc. (now JP Morgan Asset Management). Mr. Ferguson began his principal investment career in the employ of a nationally recognized investor and focused on control investments, some of which were distressed at the time of acquisition. Prior to his principal investment experience, Mr. Ferguson worked for nine years, primarily in Big Six Consulting and Investment Banking environments. Mr. Ferguson holds a BA in Economics from Michigan State University.
